COMMANDING OFFICER
COMMANDER PAUL D. MALLETT
Commander Paul D. Mallett, born in San Antonio, Texas, was graduated from the
University of Texas in 1968. After receiving has commission from Officers
Candidate School he was assigned as Engineering Officer on USS ENDURANCE (MSO-435)
then served with Navy Advisory Group, Vietnam. Following graduation from U.S.
Naval Postgraduate School and Naval Destroyer School, he served as Engineering
Officer on USS WHIPPLE (FF-1062), Material Officer on the staff of Commander
Destroyer Squadron Thirty-Five, and examiner on the CINPACFLT Propulsion Examining
Board. he has also served as Executive Officer on USS HALSEY (CG-23) and on the
staffs of Commander Naval Base, San Diego and Commander Carrier Group One. He assumed
command of USS BREWTON (FF-1086) June 27, 1986 and was relieved by Commander
