WESTPAC "86-87" was a highly successful deployment for the sailors of Electric/Auxiliary Div. We saw many changes in personnel and advancements in rate. Whether A-Gang was involved in the HIFR of a helo or E Div. was at flight quarters, the E/A teams were manned and ready. Keeping up equipment related to the crew's comfort for the months away from homeport, the sailors of E/A Div. departed the Bubba Bee completing a job "well done". E/A responsibility; IC men and EMs care for a vast electrical network which provides the ship with lights, communications and equipment, alarms and announcing system. Also in charge of showing movies. MMs (A-Gang); Keep our small boat engines running. They take care of the Aux-Generator, and the J-P5 fuel which is used for the helo. Also keep our food fresh and ship cool by running our reefers and A.C. units.
