B Div. WESTPAC "86-87" was a very eventful deployment for us. We had our share of advancements, awards, farewells and "welcome aboard". We also had our share of challenges from plugging a ruptured Boiler Tube to practically overhauling a Main Feed Pump, but each and every challenge was overcome through the dedication and professionalism of each and every member of the Div. Though everyone in B Div. eagerly awaited the day we would return to our home, family and friends in Pearl Harbor. We all can say that WESTPAC "86-87" was a successful deployment in which we all matured both personally and professionally. B Div. is responsible for maintaining all of the machinery used in steam generation, such as the ship's boilers, fuel transfer and combustion control equip. These personnel also take care of the ship's refueling arrangements. |
