
CDR Paul D. Mallett, was born in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in 1968. After receiving his commission from Officer Candidate School he was assigned as Engineering Officer on USS ENDURANCE (MSO-435) then served with Navy Advisory Group, Vietnam. Following graduation from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and Naval Destroyer School, he served as Engineering Officer on USS WHIPPLE (FF-1062), Material Officer on the Staff of Commander Destroyer Squadron Thirty-Five, and examiner on the CINCPACFLT Propulsion Examining Board. He has also served as Executive Officer on USS HALSEY (CG-23) and on the staffs of Commander Naval Base, San Diego and Commander Carrier Group ONE. He arrived on board the USS BREWTON on 27 June as Commanding Officer.
Commander Mallett's decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy Achievement Medal (2 awards), the Navy Unit Commendation and various Unit and Campaign awards.
Commander Mallett's wife, Julie, is from Plattsburgh, New York.
