It was the cruise that is told of around the dying fires of a long life in the Navy, and that most sailors only dream of. Yet, despite seventeen ports in five months, a distance traveled of over 21,000 nautical miles, and in excess of 10,000 visitors to the Good Ship Brewton, we did it and we did it well! We visited all those places that evoke visions of grass huts and long lonely beaches. From the bustling, crowded Surabaya to the isolated island of Tuvalu, we have seen all the wonders of the South Pacific. We visited, we helped, we talked, and we came away with more than just memories of a lifetime, we came away with a small insight into the culture of others and we are better for it. Share with us now in some of these wonderful memories as the USS Brewton proudly presents: SOUTH PACIFIC 1988 MEMORIES. | |
