The various ratings in Supply Department consist of SK, SH, DK, MS. SK (Storekeepers)- They are the Navy's supply clerks, providing the needed supplies that are used throughout the ship, from machinery repair parts to oil, greases, food and forms or anything else a work center might need. SH (Ship's Serviceman)- Providing service to the crew, they operate and maintain the ship's store, barber shop, laundry, and soda machines, each a key factor in the well-being of a sailor at sea. DK (Disbursing Clerk)- Maintain the financial records of each crew member aboard ship. They ensure accurate payrolls are kept up-to-date and process vouchers for travel expenses. While overseas, they play a key - in assisting the crew in money exchange. MS (Mess Management Specialist)- The cooks and bakers (Jack of the Dust). They maintain food storage, both dry and frozen.
