ALOHA FROM WG DIVISION. Our division is responsible for all gunnery exercises on board the USS Brewton. The complement of men that make up this outstanding horde of widow-makers includes the best this ship has to offer. The leader of our band is the ever so popular, ENS Beck. Following closely behind in great form is the terror of the South Pacific, FCCS(SW) Nickle. The leader of the cannon cockers just happens to be the head cocker himself, GMC Nestervich. The newly promoted chief to the realm of the mess and leader of the Fire Control Specialists is the master himself, FCC(SW) Jones.

Our band of cut throats and heart breakers look up to our trusty LPO, GMG1 Cline. This South Pac '88 was an eye-opener to all of us in WG. We were able to witness a wide variety of cultures and traditions not normally seen by average spectators. The warm smiles and teary eyes acted like stone against a window to the hearts and minds of the crew of the USS Brewton. We were able to purchase many life long memories in the form of pictures and island trinkets. Australia was the jewel of this deployment that we longed for and were finally rewarded with. This once in a lifetime deployment also brought happiness to some loved ones that were able to make the long trip to Australia. Spending eight weeks in the land down-under was like a dream come true. The people were so friendly and open to us that I believe that the comradery will live forever. The men of WG division would like to say thank you to the captain and the crew of the USS Brewton for their support and team work during deployment.
