Dear Captain Kinnier,
On the occasion of the commissioning of USS BREWTON (DE-1086) at the Long
Beach Shipyard, I extend my warmest welcome to you and your officers and men
to the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
BREWTON will be a valuable addition to the fleet as she performs her many
tasks which make destroyers among the most versitile ships in the Navy. As
an integral part of the fleet, BREWTON will have a most important mission to
perform in some of the most demanding situations our Navy has ever known.
I am confident that you and your officers and men will carry on in the
fine traditions of the Destroyer Force and that your dedication and performance
will play a vital role in our Pacific commitment.
Best wishes to you and your crew as BREWTON joins the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
Sincerely,
B. A. CLAREY
