During WESTPAC "86-87" a number of firsts were reached by WG Div., from a highly successful NGFS to a number of CIWS pacs. Although we lost a number of friends, we gained new shipmates in the process. Underway time was busy but we still found time for our play which included a spades tournament, wrestling and small arms fam-firing. Inport time was much more interesting (to say the least). We wish to thank the families and friends back home who kept us in supplies and sent those morale boosting letters. We will all find occasion to recall these memories in the years to come.

WG Div.: The Gunner's Mates operate and repair the 5" 54 Gun and maintain small arms onboard. The FCs are mainly concerned with the gun's complex target tracking system and 20mm Anti-Misile Close In Weapons System (CIWS).
