About the Webmaster

My name is Mark Lookabaugh and I maintain the USS BREWTON FF-1086 Home Page.

I joined the Navy in November 1990 as a Sonar Technician. I attended boot camp and Sonar Technician "A" School at FLEASWTRACENPAC at NTC, San Diego. I boarded BREWTON with fellow boot-camper Edward Cotter in September 1991, and served during her South American Law Enforcement (Anti-Drug) OPS cruise from October 1991 to February 1992. I transferred off in May of the same year.

I earned my Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Oklahoma, and work as a software developer for a company in Oklahoma. My wife Tamara teaches all flavors of science at the junior-high and high-school levels. My daughter Erin attends the University of Central Oklahoma, studying design.

The USS BREWTON website was started completely by accident. I posted a personal page which mentioned the BREWTON in May of 1997. Within a couple of weeks, requests for information were coming in, and we began posting names and e-mail addresses of BREWTON alumni soon after. Things snowballed from there. The generosity and willingness to help showed by BREWTON sailors has made this page possible, sustained it over the years, and will keep it growing in the future. It has been an honor to get to know and work with many BREWTON shipmates over the years. I feel very lucky indeed.

I would love to hear from any of my old shipmates and find out what you are doing now. I especially would like to thank Chief Phillip Robert, Chief Casey Porter, David Flad and Steven Muirhead for helping me to understand what being a good sailor is all about. Oh yeah, Bogert Kisch - You CAN'T bum any more smokes from me!
